Two Hoots and Macksville High School teamed up to take a group of 40 kids over two days out to Scotts Head to learn to surf with local surf school owner Paul Evans.
The course involved a lot of ocean awareness content like how to identify where is rip is and or forming, which is a very important thing for young people from coastal towns to know and learn about,
“Its really surprising how many young people that grow up in these towns like Scotts Head and Nambucca Heads and so on that don’t know how to identify a rip” Two Hoots Co-Ordinator Toby frost said.
We think this this type of thing should be taught more throughout schools and community centres which is why we thought this was there perfect way to end 2018 teaching young people ocean awareness training as well as letting the kids have a bit of fun learning how to surf. Big thanks to Paul & Macksville High School for partnering with us on such an amazing project.
